Bin Shafar: “District cooling technology in Dubai has managed to ease the load off the electricity grid”
Dubai, UAE, 13th March, 2011: Emirates Central Cooling Corporation (Empower), the largest district cooling service provider in the region, successfully concluded its participation in the 13th Water Technology, Energy and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2011) which was held recently at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower said: “Through our stand we were able to present latest advancements in district cooling, in coordination with international companies participating in the show. We demonstrated how district cooling technologies help in conserving water resources and how to move this forward in this regard.”
Bin Shafar added: “We used the show as a platform to showcase how district cooling is a green and energy-efficient technology. Our participation was in line with the Exhibition's aim of spreading awareness of rational consumption, with a focus on environment conservation. District cooling is 40 to 50% more efficient than conventional air conditioning solutions.”
District cooling technology in Dubai has managed to ease the load off the electricity grid. This cooling technology is the most eco-friendly air-conditioning solution to meet the world’s CO2 reduction targets.
The 13th edition of WETEX not only represented technologies, but also adopted and supported the issues and topics in the field of sustainable development and conservation of the environment.
