Empower reveals 2014 strategy at employee annual meeting

Empower, the world’s largest district cooling service provider, revealed its strategy for 2014 during its Annual Staff Gathering.

Held at Dubai’s Grand Hyatt hotel, Ahmed Bin Shafar, Empower’s Chief Executive Officer also honoured 72 members of staff who had completed over five years at the organisation, which was founded in December, 2003. The long- serving employees were given a certificate of appreciation and a gift.

“As a business concerned with services, Empower’s core focus is on the people aspect of our operations,” said Bin Shafar. “Our success over the last decade would not have been possible without the outstanding service of our long- standing employees.”

He added, “Honouring our employees is a living example of our commitment to acknowledging our loyal staff who are the driving force in the regional and international development of Empower.”

The company posted a net profit of AED 248 million for the fiscal year ending December 31st, 2013, representing an impressive 31 per cent growth from 2012. Total revenues reached AED850 million, a 21% increase from the previous year.

“Since the company was founded in 2003, Empower has managed to grow, both in times of economic boom and recession,” continued Bin Shafar. “This is truly a success story borne out of the strategic thinking of our employees—we have managed to attract and retain the best and the brightest in the industry.”
