Seminars part Empower’s strategy to promote energy efficiency and encourage use of district cooling technologies
Empower, the world’s largest district cooling services provider, has launched its technical seminar series with the Society of Engineers.
The first lecture, titled ‘District Cooling Industry Main Challenge Mitigations’, addressed major threats in the sector, and also provided technical and operational solutions to alleviate risks.
“District cooling is rapidly becoming a necessity in this region,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, Chief Executive Officer, Empower. “It is therefore an imperative to ensure the continuity of this sector, and we believe that sharing our expertise with the wider industry will educate, enhance and enrich professionals with the knowledge and benefits of district cooling.”
The lecture series is part of a broader Memorandum of Understanding between Empower and the Society of Engineers. Signed in 2013, the agreement involves the knowledge transfer of technical expertise through seminars and conferences.
“As a platform for professionals that facilitates learning, the Society of Engineers is involved in the life-long training of its members,” continued Bin Shafar. “Over the last 10 years, Empower has amassed the largest network of district cooling services in the world, with a unique set of experiences that are particular to this region. We feel that any dialogue about our capabilities will bring many benefits to the professionals who are responsible for the blueprints of this country.”
Empower holds a portfolio of 1 million Refrigeration Tonnes (RT) across several landmark real estate projects in Dubai including Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai International Financial Centre, Business Bay, Dubai Healthcare City, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Discovery Gardens, Ibn Batuta Shopping Mall, among others.
